Removing EGR - Exhaust Manifold
I am going to remove my EGR valve this spring. I already have a blocking plate for the intake manifold. I want to replace the exhaust manifold is a non-egr manifold. Would any exhaust manifold from a 617 engine fit my 85 300SD. I have a line on one from a 1976 300D. I believe that is the first year of the 617 engine.
If anyone has one they would like to sell me, please feel free to send me a PM. Thanks

Not all 617 engines were turbocharged. That might pose a problem.

I was thinking that a non-turbo might not fit on a turbo. I am sure that would be the case fot the intake manifold but I'm hoping thats not the case for the exhaust manifold.
Can anyone clarify if this is the case?

Here are a bunch of different 617 exhaust manifold pictures.
OM Exhaust Manifold Thread The only non-EGR 617 Turbo manifold can be found on the 1978-79 w116 300SD. .

Thanks for the pics. The manifold from the 76 won't work. I guess I will have to keep on looking. If anyone has an exhaust manifold for sale ...
