mercedes wagon 300TD tailgate wiper holder

Does anyone know if the metal part that holds the wiper (on the tailgate) is same size as those used on the front - I am pretty sure tailgate takes a 16" replacement and fronts take 20" replacement but is metal holding arm the same size? I lost mine after I removed it - any help is appreciated (I have an extra front metal arm)

Wow, you are going to need a picture as I am not really sure what you are asking for?

You could be asking for the wiper blade assembly that is marketed in metal and other materials, or you could be asking for a wiper arm.

Perhaps a picture?

I am in the process of rebuilding/repairing my W123 TD rear wiper assembly and thus have it apart and loose.

May I also mention that you have to help us out and give SOME idea what "TD" you are working on? W123 or W124?

Best of luck.

If you are talking about the the arm that holds the wiper, they are completely different on a 124 wagon.

yup, everyone assumes their TD is the only TD version there is. I automatically browse threads with TD in the title... only to find out more than half of the threads are for the "other" version. Haha.

Nothing with nuts on my 85TD but the metal arms on front and back are different on mine. Back on is shorter by about 3 inches.

Excellent, but we still are uncertain as to what the OP is looking for.

We still do not know what vintage TD the OP is asking about.

One better, how about all the Sedan owners across the US that assume they have a "TD" because "It's got a turbo dude !"

Well now we can only assume you mean the tapered shaft that passes through the glass. This shaft has threads on the end by which the "wiper arm" is secured. Again a picture is worth a thousand (more accurate) words.

Now we still have no idea what chassis you are working with.

If you have a W123:
If you need the shaft, I may have an extra one after I have a working unit to put into my wagon. There may be parts left over depending on what I have to do to have a working unit.

Let us know.

Well that is a "wiper arm", but what is on the end of it? (cut off by left side of the pic)

11 posts deep and we still have no idea what chassis "TD" you have.

He clearly stated he has a W123. In fact, you quoted it The wiper arms on a 123 TD are not the same on the back and front.

Really? Maybe someone else with better reading comprehension could go back to the first post, read the thread, and share if the OP has yet to identify what car we are trying to discuss?

I'll get the ball rolling by quoting the OP. I still dont see the chassis number. Perhaps some help is in order, I could be going blind?

Ah, indeed you are correct.
My mistake. But alas it still is not clear what part is in deficit. The arm or that which it mounts too.

Kerry, thanks for clearing that up. Sometimes things are right in front of us and we are too blind, rushed, (or stupid lol) to notice.

If Vick needs a small part that I may have extra once I have completed fixing mine, I am glad to help.
