"Improved" Meyle HD Air Cleaner bracket broke after ~15k miles

Anyone know a better brand? Does the dealer still carry OEM?

And mine broke in an uncommon place, I think. Mine broke where the arm extends out to the mounting point farthest from the manifolds. The whole arm just snapped basically in the middle. Anyone have this happen before?

You could re-weld it and weld in more metal for extra support... prolly be the better than another Meyle or OEM one, both break after a while.

Make sure your engine is tuned properly so that your vibrations are cut down to a minimum.

I found the best repair for the air cleaner bracket is to first to an extensive valve adjustment then replace the bracket. Include in this a replacement of the rubber shock mounts for the air cleaner housing and the o-rings for the separator drain help with this as well. If you just keep replacing brackets, without doing anything about the vibrations, you end up with and expensive frustration. Been there, done that.

I've got the meyle one on my dad's SD and the re-welded stock one on my other SD. Neither have any issues. Less than 10k on the meyle bracket.

Yes its very important that you get rid of most of the vibrations on that air cleaner. I've got all new mounts, head shields, proper valve adjustment, idle adjusted to 750, and an exhaust hanger wedged between the valve cover and the air cleaner. The only issue I've had recently was the rear mount un-screwing itself.

Try a self-locking nut on the bottom of the mount stud.
