Erm, which glowplugs belong in my car?

Buying from fastlane or benzbin.com both yields glowplugs which will work on a 300TD with the "-085945" engine or the "12-085946-" engine. What the hell is the difference and where the hell did they get those numbers? According to my car and the model lookup guide my engine is the "617.912"

As soon as i know I can order them.

Tony

Ok

Car was born on same month and year as me: April of 1980

There is no "squiggly" wire running from glowplug to glowplug but there IS a cord which looks almost like.... bungee cord, for lack of a better word, running from glowplug to glowplug, I assume thats what you meant.

Ok

Erm...

Ack = Doh. Ack was popularized by Bill the Cat. Doh of course is the legal property of Homer Simpson.

Erm = Er, hmm. My own personal creation which I nicked from some git.

Heh

As soon as you asked me to define git I thought "Tricky to define..." so I went to the english/american crossover page and here is what they say: (notice the first 3 words haha, and I've NEVER heard of the pregnant camel thing)

Quote:
Tricky one to define. What it doesn't mean is what The Waltons meant when they said it (as in "git outta here, John-Boy"). Git is technically an insult but has a twinge of jealousy to it. You'd call someone a git if they'd won the Readers' Digest Prize Draw, outsmarted you in a battle of wits or been named in Bill Gates' Last Will and Testament because of a spelling mistake. Like sod, it has a friendly tone to it. I'm told it derives from Arabic, where it describes a pregnant female camel, of all things. I'm also told that it is a contraction of the word "illegitimate" - you be the judge.
