Vacuum element access

Can someone tell me if the center nozzle flap vacuum pod fastens into a bayonet like the other pods. Also. How is the connection to the flap accessed.
From what I see the pod is fasten into a black plastic piece held to the heater box with five small nuts.

The center pod attaches to the flap using the same method as the defrost pod. To access the connection, you have to remove the nuts and the black plastic piece. It isn't too bad of a task to disconnect the pod arm from the flap but a little tricky to get it re-attached. Long needle nose pliers or hemostats are nearly a necessity.

Hint: Cram some white rags below the area into the center console to keep the small hardware from disappearing into never land.

Thumbs up

I did this over the winter in my SD, the job was not too bad. I think I spent about three hours figuring it all out. I was able to disconnect and reconnect the hook to the flapper door by reaching through the heater box from the driver side.

Yes, this will test your patience. But now I do not have to wire up the center flapper door each spring.

We made a huge thread about it. Search for me and SD blue in the thing, you will find piles of info.
