Left front brake noise
When I brake my left front wheel makes a hammering sound if I apply a lot of pressure to the pedal. Plus the brake wear light has been flashing as I drive and while braking.
I just replaced the front pads and rotors with ate premium rotors and pages pads. Also replaced the front lower ball joints a few months ago. I'm at a loss at what it could be and i do not really want to just throw money at it. |
What did you see when you jacked that Car up and inspected the Wheel and then the Rotor and Calipers?
After someone steps on the Brake pedal and releases it how and you rotate the Wheel does it still drag? |
Could be the guide rod, either the mount at the body, or the bushings at the lower control arm.
Checking the obvious, did you make sure you got the caliper bolts on tight in the install. |
Caliper bolts are back on tight with blue loctite.
It did it before I changed the brakes out. IIRC the w124 doesn't have a guide rod like the w123. |
w124 has struts. My Miata is making the same noise, need to look in to it but I'm thinking warped rotor.
When you brake hard does the noise go away? |
Did you guys figure out what caused the hammering sound? I just did my front rotors and pads too, and after 1 day of blissful driving I'm getting the hammering sound from the front right. I suspect a warped new rotor but was just wondering what you guys found.
This was my '97 E300, not the '85. Thanks, |
Its not the front making the noise. It's actually a dog leg in part of the multi link rear suspension knocking since its worn out.
