proper lube?

What lube to use on the gear shifter? What about the sunroof?

Can't comment on the gear shifter Dan, but MB makes a lube grease specifically for the sunroof rails. Supposedly the only stuff that works well for any period of time. You can get it at your local dealer or partsshop probably carries it as well.

I have used silicone grease with success. Usually you can find it in a parts store, sometimes sold as ignition grease.

Don't know if you have an auto or manual. I don't think there is any linkage on a manual, and on an auto, perhaps you could try some spray grease?
