190d questions?
Is there any manual for my car? Do I need to buy a 190 manual and a 300 manual that has diesel information?
Anyway I have a thud coming from the rear wheel when I hit any type of potholes. It also seems like the wheel spins a little or something weird with the traction. The car does have a few miles, 350,000. |

The Haynes manual for 190's has all the chassis and body info for your car but nothing relating to diesel. While it's pretty basic, it helps as most systems other than those relating to the engine, are the same.
Your noise in the back is likely the rear shock absorbers. Change those, and probably the front as well, and that should take care of the thud. |

Before you start changing parts have it put on a rack and checked out. I'm not against changing shocks after 350K but first things first. I couldn't afford to do the shocks and everything else that could be wrong at the same time.
Buy first quality parts and don't look back.

If a Dead shock is the problem youll get a bounce when applying your weight to that side ,a shock that works absorbs the bounce.

I had a bad clunk out back in my w124, the previous owner replaced all the rear suspension and shocks, turned out to be the diff mounts. It wasn't a fun job to replace those, but it was worth it and it's been quiet ever since.

Check the rear subframe front mounts, they are glycol filled and do fail.
Jack the body and watch the mount as the weight is taken off the wheel, if the sub frame moves relative to the body the mount is shot at. |

Thanks for the help. It does have sort of a bounce when it hits a hole. I have a parts car that I can take some stuff from and see what is what. I'll take it to a shop and have them do a 'free checkup' for me!
