Red face W210 Diesel Engine hesitation

1999 M-B W210 E300 Turbo Diesel, 78000 miles. My M-B has a slight hesitation at times, you push on the accelerator and it seems like it is disconected, then will suddenly accellerate. I have noticed this on two other W210 diesels I have driven, it does not do this all the time. I suspect it has something to do with the TPS. Has anyone else run into this issue? Do you have a fix?

It could simply be clogged fuel filters or air in the fuel lines .... how long ago did you change the filters? Do you see any air bubbles in the plastic fuel lines?
