idle adjustment
Ok guys on my 1982 300sd how do you make the idle adj? just getting ready for the texas shindig. Bob se,ks.

Assuming that the adjustment is the same as a 616 or 617 engine, it would seem that loosening the lock nut is a major PITA!
What type of tool can be used for this lock nut?

A 14mm deep socket will fit on the nut. Use a bit of WD40 or other oil on the nut and threaded shaft before loosening it - makes it easier to loosen the nut and then adjusting the idle speed. Turning the threaded shaft clockwise increases engine speed, counter-clockwise decreases. See ya March 17 at McKinney, Bob.
