1981 300s climate system overhaul

My 81 300sd needs a complete overhaul my system i think was converted to 134a. here is my dilemma

My old compressor is shot with a hole blown into it. new belts will be needed to as it is not hooked up. What is the favorite compressor for 134a systems? im buying a new one not used.

My blower fan used to work but not will blow a fuse every time I touch a button on my dash to change vents or speed. I pulled the fan cleaned out a little bit of crap and oiled the blower.... since then my two week fuse rate has been reduced to seconds. The brushes were around 1/2" long and there was seemingly good life left. (maybe im wrong).

Ordering a new blower motor is somewhat cheap around 80 bucks but i see no way of pulling the fan off without breaking it. A motor with the fan is around 280.

should i convert to a external fusebox for my blower motor and will this cause any problems with the idle cutoff switch.(i am using this thread as a troubleshoot guide)http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/diesel-discussion/309358-1984-300sd-blower-failure-odyssey.html

Next step is ordering the new o rings just to make sure there is no leaks when i have things apart. I was ordering the rings for 134a conversion.

I also was ordering a new receiver/dryer and expansion valves compatible with 134a system.i will replace the temperature sensor in the dryer

Also i was adding another fan that i read today on the forum hoping for a cooler vent temperature.
Amazon.com: Flex-a-lite 31147 Adjustable Temperature Control Unit: Automotive

any suggestions on part brands or advice... i am having an AC tech clean evacuate and charge it for me.
