Valve and Compression Specs Cold

Hello All-

I have looked but found nothing on what the specs are for checking this on a cold engine. My 1977 300d (non-turbo) has not ran for two months. I wanted to get an assessment of my engine's health before putting money into it to fix the problem. The thing I need to know is what a suitable compression range would be when the engine is cold. I know proper testing would be a warm engine, but unfortunately I cannot do that. I also am going to adjust the valves prior to the test, but do not know the specs when cold either. I have the valve specs when the engine is warm...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Peter

There is no spec for a cold compression test.

If you Emission Sticker is still on the front Cross Member in front of the Radiator it has Valve and Timing Specs.

The cold Valve specs and what other have gotten doing a cold compression test can be found below

Thanks. I will look for that sticker, although I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't there. I think what I will need to do is do a compression test cold, and then post my results and get the forum's feedback on this. From what I have read, even if the compression is low, the variance between cylinders is the biggest factor.
