w201 wiper motor

Im replacing my late 85 w201 wiper motor with a "new" one. The motors are the same but the wiring socket seems to have different pin assignments.

Both sockets have six pins, with one vacant. Is it logical to hope that the tiny numbers on the sockets are relevant to each other, so that I can move the pins to match the chassis end of the socket or is that just wishful thinking?
