300SDL Acclerator pedal replacement

Hello All,
The tab on the back of the accelerator pedal broke off on me yesterday and I am looking at replacing it. How does the pedal section attached to the floorboard come off?
Thanks,
A

I am assuming it's the same an SD: there are three parts, the pedal section, a removable/reusable pedal pad and a plug.

To remove: There is a hollow metal tab that extends up from the floor and the pedal section is anchored to it by a small horizontal rubber clip/plug that passes through the bottom of the pedal section and the hollow metal tab. If the area is caked up with dirt it may not be obvious at first, use a brush to clean things off.

Anyway the plug has tabs that must be squeezed together from behind, to push it out. You can then remove the pedal section.

dirt

That could be why I cannot see anything because it was pretty dirty under the mat. Thank you for the info.
