W123 '84 Turbodiesel project car

My son-in-law got a new Benz about a year ago and parked this car under an oak tree. I got it with the thought of 'rescuing' it but think I've decided against it. Way too many little things to get up to 100%.

I've cleaned it up and done a bit of work on it, like replace the injector fuel return lines which were leaking. Not sure it's worth the $1500 he wants for it. The engine runs strong, no leaks except from the rear main, and the tranny shifts fine. No problems there. 233,000 on the clock. The body is solid but the paint over the roof and top of hood is almost past the primer. Sides OK. California car with one PO. No rust. The car was run with sheepskin covers and the blue upholstery is in great shape. There are 3 VERY small cracks on the blue dash, almost too small to see. The major problems I see are the paint, the rear main oil seal, and a bearing noise out of the rear end. The wood trim is gone and there's an electrical problem to the two rear windows which I think is in the switch as the motors start to respond and quit. Pretty new tires and battery.

Is it worth $1500? What's it worth as a parts car?
