AFAIK Mercedes hasn't made a diesel wagon since 1987. If they have, it hasn't been imported into the USA.

1987 was the last model year the USA received a diesel wagon. There are huge numbers of diesel wagons all over Europe - I've ridden in 203, 204, 210, 211, and 212 wagons with 4, 5, and 6 cylinder diesel engines. But not here...

Diesel Wagons

Ach der lieber! Too bad.

I much prefer the styling of the E320 wagon to the sedan. The wagon looks much more balanced, with better lines. And you can haul stuff.

But I like that Inline 6.

Nuts.

European Delivery Program

I believe that MB has a European Delivery Program, where you can pick up your new MB in Germany. I'm sure this has been discussed before, but... How does that work if you're not a European resident? Can a North American customer purchase ANY model in MB's catalog, and bring it back to the US? Obviously it would require getting through some red-tape here to federalize it and pay import taxes, etc. But clearly European models have been imported before, as evidenced by the presence of gray-market w123s, w124s, etc. that are in the US. So if someone is willing to spend the $$$$$ to buy a new E-class diesel wagon, I'd think this would be technically possible. No?

Heck, for that matter, are the diesel wagons sold in Canada? Can a US customer cross the border and buy one?

There are "newer" Mercedes diesel wagons in Canada (and Europe and other places as mentioned already in this thread). I'm not too sure on the import laws (taxes, etc) of importing a car in to the USA.

If USA sold a diesel 210 wagon, I'd be driving one.

E320cdi Wagon

Interesting responses...

Out of curiosity, has anyone tried K-Seal? Thinking about it for a 300SDL.

Thanks

Why do you want to use K-seal? What is leaking? I would only use it on a bearer I wasn't planning on keeping long term.

Quite the opposite. They've just not brought them here since 1987. They've never stopped making them. We drove a 2002 C220 Cdi wagon (with a 6-speed manual) when we were in Germany and it was AWESOME.

It looks like a diesel wagon isn't offered in Canada, either. Just the E350 and E63. Boo...

Maybe not brand new, but I have seen a 210 diesel wagons for sale and probably other models for sale in Canada.

Nice. That's good to know. Are they 4matics? My understanding is that for the gasser 4matics, the front diff is integrated into the motor. Not sure how that'd be accomplished on a 606...

You've seen 2005+ E320cdi wagons?

Is there a different model number for 32ocdi wagons? My search turns up nothing!
