Got a question

I'm in the process of picking up the parts for a rear suspension rebuild on my
W123. For the subframe to body bushings Mercedes uses that long screw with a needle point. Is it OK to re use that bolt? The chassis on this car is very rust free and so I don't expect difficulty in getting it out- or is it always a problem to get out?

The problem with that bolt comes when it's time to put it back in.

The bolt went right in for me, problem I had was the 4 13mm bolt for the Differential mount wouldn`t line up. they were off about an inch. removed the sub frame bushing bolts and then bolted a couple of the Diff bolts, and the other bolts were off.

At first I thought maybe the new rubber in the bushings being tighter might have been the problem, but there was no way it could be pryied over that much.

Next mornng with a clear mind, I discovered that someone had bolted the new Diff mount backwards.

The metal has a curve in it and points to the rear to clear the sway bar.

I added a little Anti-Seiz to the threads, and used a torque wrench. figure in 30yrs when I have to do this job again.................
