no power massive hesitation

i have an 87 300 SDL I have replaced, fuel filters, oil and oil filters, compressor, evaporator, condensor, fan clutch, water pump, various fuel lines, I think thats it for now, everything was ok until a day ago. nothing happened except, car has no power at all, it feels like its hesitating under load, both at normal road speed and on the highway, It feels like there is no turbo fitted, although obviously there is. I can only reach 60 maybe 65 mph only. the car is my daily driver and to say i'm a little worried is an understatement. can someone please lead me in the correct direction. as always, thanks

Keeping in mind that one bad fill-up can severely clog a secondary fuel filter, when did you replace yours?

Sounds like a good time to check on the OVP (over voltage protection) unit located behind the battery, behind the plastic sheet. It is voltage protection for the auto electronics, has a red fuse in it, and when it looses its fuse you get those kind of symptoms. Check it out first.

massive hesitation

checked the fuse for the voltage over ride jobby, all seems fine, what isn't fine is that some of the vacuum hoses are off around the turbo unit, one looks like a fuel filter of some sort, which I'm sure it isn't however it has a y piece and a couple of the lines are not connected, I did connect them, not knowing if they are correct and the problem is still apparent. Having dumped thousands into this old girl, I don't have to much left, I am hoping this isn't a faulty turbo charger, or worse

Look on the outside of the intake manifold (driver's side). There is a male hose barb with a rubber hose attached. Remove the rubber hose from the hose barb and ensure that the port is clear. EGR tends to clog the port.

Now take the hose that you just removed and follow it to the firewall. It will enter the "overboost protection valve". This valve also must be clear and you need to be able to blow through this valve and have air come out the horizontal port on the top of the valve. You'll need to disconnect the hose on the horizontal port to make this test. If air won't pass through the valve, you need to clean it with some brake cleaner and compressed air until air will pass through it.

Reconnect the hoses and drive the vehicle again. The problem should now be eliminated.

You can also consider complete removal of the ALDA on that vehicle. Do a search on "603 ALDA" to decide if you want to go that way. It takes no more than 10 minutes to remove this device and the improvement in driveability is significant.
