power steering / self leveling pump woes

Folks-

Am looking for advice..... I have an 87 300td wagon and halfway back from a long trip the power steering/ self leveling pump I had rebuilt last year sheared off at the pump body mounting bolts basically taking it out of my serpentine belt loop and although the engine runs the car is useless. Gotta love that the diesel still runs without any belt!

Anyways I am wondering if it is possible to weld this back together for any sort of lasting solution. Basically at each bolt hole about an inch away the metal cracked and sheared. The pulley still moves- so I don't think the pump froze or anything like that. I am thinking if it can't be welded I may have a real challenge replacing that pump. I took it out to have it rebuilt last year. At least I believe I had to do that rather than a core exchange.

Any thoughts?

Thanks ahead!
