Having a used tranny installed for my 300CD, what seals?
I sourced a used tranny and having a tranny shop swap it in my 85 300CD. What seals should I have them replaced as a precautionary measure?? Thanks.

Everything externally accessible:
B2 cover, governor cover, B2 band reaction piston, etc. Or leave well enough alone and cross your fingers. Sweeties 300D has never been idled, and doesn't leak a drop. My former SDL sat for, in my estimate, 10 years, and leaked from every port on the transmission when I got it. The o-rings and seal "rubber" had turned to glass, and actually cracked into many pieces during removal. And no, running for a while with full fluid (DexIII, but no magic juice) did not "rejuvenate" the seals--they had to be changed.

I did the same thing. My trans needed alot of work and it would have cost 2500.00. The guy had it all torn apart. He found me a used trans for 1000 less. It does seep a little, not sure where. I would say the main seals and any that are not accessable after instal.
