99 e300 fuel leaks opinion

Hey everybody I have a 99'e300 and I just had the injectors, tested and redone, and I put all new return lines too. Saturday I'm pulling the intake for a glow plug and to replace all the fuel lines. What else should I do whileim down there? Sov o ring? Anything else? Thanks

SOV indeed, as you said, but this can be done without removing the intake.
You might want to do the delivery valves oring/ copper washers. Its a delicate job tho.
change the large Oring under the EGR.
I think its about it?

Thanks delivery valves I did a few months back but I'll keep my eyes open for anything else. Can a major fuel line leak causing air in the lines make the engine nail and run loud?

Or a badly blocked tank strainer.
Before anything I look at the tank strainer and the rubber pipes as well, they might be old...
But tank strainer first, then the prefilter, then the rubber pipes.
you might find this in the tank...
if you do the strainer you need the oring.

The strainer is at the bottom of the tank.
If you have an estate the access is easier, for the saloon you need to take the out the carpet in the boot, unscrew the four bolts that hold the tank, from there you can lift the tank a bit and you see the strainer bolt. Its just screwed in at the bottom left ish.
You better be sure the tank is empty and even then there is going some fuel dropping.
picture of the complete strainer for the saloon.

Typically the sedans still have access to the tank strainer from underneath. There is a big rubber seal where the feed line attaches.

Note that the more you take apart, the more issues you may cause accidentally. Some times it's best to deal solely with what needs to be serviced rather than risking making new problems.

Most important is to remove glow plugs and ream the ports. This needs to be done annually.

best of luck.
