92 300SD AC question

My A/C compressor went out and I'm having to fix it myself. I installed a new Denso 20C. However, there is no power on the wire that plugs into the compressor so the clutch won't engage. Is there a relay or in line fuse? All other fuses seem ok. Thanks

First of all I hope that you thoroughly flushed the system of debris or it will destroy your new compressor in short order.

Have you evacuated and put your initial charge in the system? If not, the low pressure switch is not made, interrupting the clutch circuit. The switch is there to protect the compressor from a low charge situation which prevents lubricant circulation.

If you have already given the system the initial charge and you still have no clutch power, post that here, and we will go further into the troubleshooting process.

Hope this helps.

A mechanic put freon in it but the compressor never came on. At no time was there power on the wire leading to the compressor.
