parts girl at park place is much more than clueless. No way a modern benz dealer counter person will find the part #
anyone got any creative ways of getting it?

Like I said in the past thread in the picture it looks like either a Pie Plate or a Wheel Cover (a.k.a. Hub Cap) that some one drilled holes in.

i need the part number for that pie plate too, LOL. actually i really need something like that when i build a generator with my OM617.

It doesn't looks like it would have a MB part number.

Why couldn't you just 'gut,' the pump and use it?

I gutted my pump, cut it down, and brazed a plate onto it. There IS a stamped steel plate made by Mercedes, some G-cans had them. No idea on how to look up the number.

Hi I was checking out your build, Its in storage and hasn't been run so we havent seen if your modded pump housing will work. From what I understand --What bumps up against the rocker in the pump --has to have the correct tension on it if the pump were removed and the cover is a particular curvature--not just a blockoff. That unimog site says its a benz part avalable from benz for about $35.00. Eurotruck said They found the cover but they say its $350.00 to supply one -NAO.

Also was looking at your upside sanden conversion -Like I was thinking and cannot see how its belt clears the water pump pully??

Thanks, I guess that answers my question, a little more to it than meets the eye.

The part number for the cover is: 616-011-00-33. I'll have to wait until I get to work tomorrow before I can check to see if the part is still available from Mercedes or not.
