Losing Vacuum on occasion

I periodically lose all my vacuum after I park. It only happens once in a while. I "mighty vacced" all the vac circuits and found no leaks. I suspect it may be that check valve on top of the vacuum pump. Has anyone taken that off and perhaps cleaned it successfully, or is it something that is not serviceable? I remember cleaning egr valves with lacquer thinner and they
worked fine again.

did you see how the reservoir in the trunk is holding vac?

not sure about the check valve.. it seems to have very simple operation, but they also disintegrate completely so it's worth a look

That check valve is the prime suspect with an intermittent vacuum complaint. Usually, the problem is that the valve retainer has broken and dumped loose parts into the vacuum pump inlet. Easy fix, except when it comes to paying for the valve.

Hey Qwerty

That's the info I needed. I didn't want to bother to take it off and attempt
a cleaning only to find it bad. 65 bucks is OK if I have to hassle once, heh.
If it were only a grime stuck ball valve..
