W123 Sun visors... Floppy

Hey guys I need help, My sun visors in my 1982 240d won't stay in the up position. Is there any way to repair these or should I start the hunt for replacements?
Thanks,
Mark

I've never worked on a 123 visor but on some older cars you can re-establish tension by tightening the mounting screws. Other cars have a set screw on the visor near the hinge.

Cue the Viagra and Cialis jokes

I am pretty sure you will need to replace them since I have never seen any adjustment point.

Just a quick look and is see no adjustment or set screw. I will remove it here shortly and take a closer look.

When they fail, there is no repairing 'em.

Woohoo

Ok I removed them. Found that if I moved the visor back and forth pushing it towards the mounting end it slid just enough to grab again and works normal without flopping straight down. Is this a temporary fix? Who knows but it's working for now. I will keep you posted.....

Time to up grade to the lighted ones. most every one of the older type I have run across look all floppy and broken.

The light won`t work, unless you get the wiring off a junker. but just do your make-up before you leave home.

I replaced the right side on our 240 with a lighted one, looking for the driver side. and even finding good lighted one some times is difficult. need to get to the yards befor some idiot tears them apart.
