Need a w124 sls and power steering tandem pump for w123 experiment

I need a w124 sls and power steering tandem pump for w123 wagon experiment. I am going to try an sls work around on a w123 wagon so that I can utilize a 300d non sls head sedan engine. Anyone willing to help me out and source a pump for me at a great price? Possibly a loaner or doaner, free ?? I have a fabricator lined up if needed and will post a write up with lots of pics and specs to offer in return to the forum

It's for an 80 non turbo wagon with a dead engine. I am not interested in swapping heads to another non turbo engine. I am interested in pushing the envelope and working out a way to use a sedan engine, which are far more plentiful than wagon specific engines. I have spare sedan engines to work with.

Thanks in advance.

WTB

You need to post a "WTB" (want to buy) ad in the Used Parts for Sale and Wanted subforum (scroll down on the main forums page).

You could also use an electric pump as described in other threads. I'd actually like to see someone use a hand operated hydraulic pump to see if it's effective.

Hi Neumann,

You are running the same project I am. I am about to chase up a tandem pump and do the same.

A question to consider is if the reservoir will sit too high and touch the bonnett?

Have you looked at making a custom bracket yet to fit to the head and pump

Will the W123 V pulley fit onto the tandem pump or will it need modification?

I am planning the sls/power steering pump conversion myself on my 82 300TD.

Bad motor and I tried getting the head off the bad motor to drop on the sedan engine. not good. 360K on the bad motor and nothing but troubles.

I don't want to risk messing up the good engine so I'm doing the SLS/power steering pump off an 87 to get the SLS working.

Lots of plans. Little fruition. I hope someone completes it.
