UCA Install
Im trying to install a new UCA. Do i install the UCA to the body first then tighten the sway bar bushings or is it the other way around? I cant line up the swaybar bushing since its not centered. I also have the steering arm installed but loose. Any tips?

Do not tighten any suspension bushing until the vehicle is back on the ground and sitting at normal ride height. Last edited by qwerty; 09-02-2012 at 05:55 PM. |

I did mine a long time ago so My memory is not clear on it but I do remember have to muscle the Sway/Torsion Bar around.
The below is with the UCA and Sway Bar Rubber Donuts And Washer installed but not tight. I believer I got a large Pipe Wrench Jaws on the Sway Bar and pulled up and back and levered it around with one Hand and used Tapered Punch through the Bolt Hole on one end and the Bolt started in the opposite end to line it up. The idea was to shove the Bolt quickly through and pop out the Punch and the Bolt was supposed to go through the hole lined up by the Punch. Lacking a 3rd hand to tap the Bolt through I did not have an easy time if it. Get someone to help and you will have enough Hands. Thanks for all the help. Everything is buttoned up finally. I was following the FSM for installation and hit a snag at step 10 when the bushings didnt line up. I removed the UCA from the body and pressed the bushings to the UCA by tightening the bolt. Loosened the bolt a little and installed the UCA to the body and torqued all the bolts.
