I Don't think that body style will ever look old. It's timeless.

Question

Very nice! How come your speedometer goes to 100 mph? My 82 only goes to 85. Is yours a US model?

Kerry,
Yes Mbtex, and wrapped the wheel to match.
The Interior is near perfect, and I have a perfect complete matching interior in my garage!!

Boy Yuddy, that's one fine looking automobile. Mine looks pretty good after a wash, but my interior doesn't hold a candle to yours.
I'm curious about your speedo also. U.S. law mandated 85 mph speedos on all vehicles from '81 until, I think '85. Has yours been changed? And if so, is the odometer reading accurate?

It was 1980 to 1982, all cars in the US by federal law had to have an 85mph speedo, even corvettes, porsches and lamborghini's.

Also, your oil/temp/fuel cluster has black needle centers, while your tach and speedo have silver ones. I think your speedo was replaced at some time or another, from a 77 to 79 240D or 300D.

I'll tell ya guy's,
I learn something new about this car every day !!
Very good eye John, I would love to know the true history of this car.
One thing that is interesting, I ordered a copy of the original monroney lable, original color was "light Ivory", part of the standard equipment package was "cruise control".
Now she is Gold, and no cruise to be found!
Interesting huh?
But she runs good, & looks good, guess I'll just have to take that for what it's worth.

Beautiful Sunday In Philly...

Yuddy,

I couldn't think of better way to spend an unseasonably mild Sunday ! Except maybe under my car.....

It looks really great. I keep looking on the streets for you, but have not seen you yet. Keep your eye out for a black 79 300CD (2 door) with clear fogs. That's me.

I'll have to check my instrument panel too, but I am pretty sure it all silver needle centers, and the speedo goes to 100mph. I wish I had a tach though, just the 'big dial' clock on the 79's.

James
