He has to be! I don't care how perfect the car is. It is NOT worth $18K.

Man, I thought the local VW dealer was high when he was asking $8000 for a very nice 84 TD wagon, with less miles than this $18K car...it didn't last very long on his lot, either.

Talking If only his phone number were listed…

Then several of us could call with a tone of excitement & anticipation in our voices as we tell him: PLEASE do not sell it to anyone else. I can hardly wait to catch the first plane out there to buy it. In fact, if you hold it for me, I’ll pay you an extra $1,000.

(I think my mean streak is showing tonight)

Thumbs down how many times??

I have seen this a couple other times on ebay...
You would think he would take a hint. I emailed him and asked if he had a pot of gold in the trunk...he did not reply. I wonder why?
Also noticed the "shades" next to his/her name. That tell that he has changed his username recently...probably due to the fact that he has been less than honest with people?

I saw that too, and was going to post a message. THen I figured we have all see this before! My guess is it is a typo, 18,000 instead of 1,800 and he just wasn't careful when reviewing the auction.

That must have been some killer insertion fee!
Some people just never learn....

Hah!

I admit I nearly died laughing at that "Pot of gold in the trunk?" comment. Thats exactly what I would have asked him!

If you're going to ask $18k for a car like that, do it somewhere else where the diesel community isn't so educated. Man, all of us are surfing ebay all the time and we know what these things go for and their relative value.

I just couldn't believe it when I saw that car. If he had an opening bid of $4k, there would still be zero bids.
