Warning module?
 

Think my warning module went kaput. My buzzer had been sounding "sick" for a while, but last week it stopped making any sound at all. When I open the door, leave my seatbelt unfastened, leave my headlights on, nothing. Dome light won't automatically come on when I open the door anymore either (though it DOES still work).

Would that be a dead warning module for sure, or something else?

Welcome to the forum. we are happy to give you a hand, but please list what car you are referring to. fill out your signature. In the top left you will see CP, click on it and it will get into that area.

Have you checked any of your fuses? they may look good, but can be corroded between the aluminum and the brass contact they fit into. clean the contact area with a pencil eracer.

Buzzer issues
 

I know I'm diggin up an old one here but I've got my warning buzzer relay apart right now, and I can tell you its probably the little hella relay on the board thats gone bad. I cut the little black box from around the element (I'm not sure what to call the coil windings with magnet suspended above that vibrates when current is applied), its the actual part that makes the buzzing sound. I was able to straighten it slightly and get more of a buzz rather than the sickly sound low hum. But there's really no saving it.

Rather than buy a used one on ebay for $25, 001-545-82-32 I decided to wire a piezeo element to the positive and negative terminals on the board, they can be had at radioshack for about $3. However, on Amazon, I found this:

A programmable buzzer that you could wire into it and have a field day with it. It looks like some buyers have had a time "programming" it but would be cool to have a german voice announcing "Das beste oder nichts" or something to that extent. :cool:

Mine sounded sick for a while too before "dying." But when I went to replace it, it turned out that part of it just came unplugged. Snapped it back together and it was fine again. Before doing anything else, check it and make sure it's connected properly!

Good advice, but upon opening the little hella buzzer, I found the copper arm holding the magnet on the coil had a micro-crack and that caused the magnet to be forced down into the coil and it couldn't rebound back up because of the copper's weakness. I'm going to radioshack shortly to pick up 273-059 a little 76db piezo buzzer. :rolleyes:
