Parts Pickin. Wilmington, NC.. W126 parts

I'll be taking the body from my '84 300SD off to Pick&Pull in the next few days. If anyone wants to grab some parts reply to this posting. The car's in Wilmington, NC in my well equipped shop and you can use tools, hoist, etc. as needed to harvest components.

The complete rear end is still there along with decent rims and fair tires. Most of the sheet metal and glass looks pretty good. There's one good front seat frame. Not sure about things like heater controls, etc. - they're there but no idea on function. I'll be using the engine, trans, driveshaft, and shifter so none of that is available.

If I don't hear from anyone by Tuesday, it's outta here.

Dan

One response on here. Otherwise it'll go to P&P and will be available to everyone. The prices there are pretty reasonable so I don't feel TOO bad about hauling it over there - and he'll give me a few $$ for it as well.

Looks like that trim just pops off. I'll give it a try.

Dan,
I'm looking for a light ivory right front fender & a black console.
My brother lives in Raleigh.

The car is a sort of smoke gray with a dark tan (is that even a color?) interior. Have the fender painted! That cream should be an easy match - just take something that's painted and that you can bolt off (fuel door works for most cars) to your local auto paint store and they can blend it up for you. DON'T count on the color code unless the car has just been painted as paint ages and changes color with age. A good paint store guy is worth his weight in gold (or cream or whatever color you need).

The chances of finding a good fender that's the right color are slim to none, especially for an older car that wasn't all that common to start with. I've done a ton of paint and body over the years and have a lots of knowledge here.

Send the bro down and we'll harvest a fender.

Dan

By the way, Roy changed my title to offer "FREE" parts. That wasn't my intent although I did plan to offer the bits darn cheap. Just trying to regain some of what Pick & Pull will take off when I pull in with missing bits. Mostly I want folks to get the parts they need.

I tweaked the title again.
Should it be a strip party?

before you consider taking the car to a pullapart... keep this FACT in mind... they only keep the cars for 1 to 3 months.
an 87TD was in the local yard, and me and another few forum members were pulling parts about every week... I went in to get the suspension and the head, and they had crushed the car... likely about 80% still on the car parts got crushed...

the horror!

I live in a sort of subdivision and I can't store the carcass so it has to go in the near future. My shop is 30x40 but it's pretty full including two project cars. So yeah, it's gotta go.

Come pick what you want!

He's off racing. Told me he'd be back Monday. I'm going to meet up with him and help him pull parts off.
