testing door actuator
i need to test my door actuators on my 80sd.on these cars testing tees are almost inaccessible, high up near dash.so im going to test each actuator.just wanted to know ifall i have to do is apply vacume to each port on actuator and see if it activates rod,or does it have to hold vacum?

ive got actuators out of car,no rips seen.but not clear how to test with mighty vac, anyone??
|
just spoke to george murphy, performance analysis.he told me that when vac is applied, diaphragm should go up or down and stay there until opposite side has vac applied.mine go down with vac ,but dont hold.thats a sign of leakage.im getting new diaphragms from him and replace them all-13 including trunk,i have no gas actuator, must have been removed.

Good info. Thanks. I found my vacuum issue. My front passenger side lock was leaking. I ended up plugging it. I'm going to test the actuator soon.
