W123 300D shift points?

Hey guys,

So I finally got my transmission shifting all squared away on my 1984 300D. I got the vacuum system sealed up and replaced the vacuum levers. WOW! I can't believe how smooth this thing can shift. I also can't believe how refined the car feels now. It's really amazing.

At any rate, now that I got the shifting squared away, I want to get my shift points right. Right now at WOT, I think it shifts around 3,700rpm's or so. From what I've seen/read, it should be around 4,500rpm's, no?

And is it just a matter of turning the bowden cable till it shifts right? And does anyone know the correlation between clockwise/counterclockwise turns on the adjustment knob and which direction makes for higher/lower shifts?

Thanks guys!
