Bolt for thrust bar missing!

Recently I had some welding done where the thrust bar attaches to the frame on my 350SD. The shop left the big nut off where the thrust bar connects to the suspension. I have moved out of state and won't get anywhere with that shop.

Does anyone know the size of that big nut that connects the thrust bar to the frame?

Also, if you have one, can I buy it?

I hate to call Mercedes and order it at their prices, even though it won't be that much.

Bob,

When you say thrust bar? Are you referring to the sway/torsion bar? That big thick piece of metal that comes out near the fuse box?

Or are you referring to the guide rod that attaches to the bottom of the wheel carrier ?

I think its the former.

The bar is underneath the car. It connects from a mounting point on the frame to the lower control arm. A bolt goes through the top on the control arm side and is tigetened with the missing nut on the bottom.

I should have taken a picture.

Here is the thread with the rusted frame. The big bar it attaches to is the thrust bar, I think.

Post a photo of the missing bolt. Kinda hard to photo something that isn't there. So, photo the other side and point out the bolt you need.

I will check the parts car and see if I have one available.

BTW my offer still stands on your car.

Ahhh I see what you need. You're talking about the guide rod. There are three bolts involved. Two go from the support bearing bracket into the car's body. One goes from the guide rod end into the lower control arm.

The EPC is being a pain right now but look at these:

Need nut for bolt at end of guide rod that connects to lower control arm.

I need the nut for bolt at end of guide rod that connects to lower control arm.

I can't tell what that is in the picture.

I just need the right sized nut to put it back on.

It connects 92 and 77. I don't think I see the nut in the picture.

I know Roy already gave you the part number, but if you look in the picture look at item 146. That is a kit that give you the rubber bushings and screws that attach the guide rod to the lower control arm.

Thanks.

I can't believe the shop that left that nut off!
