1982 300TDT Head Torque Values
Looking for the actual torque values for the head. Not looking for the 90 degree system... thanks

I can't tell you the actual torques for the 90˚ turns, but Roy said you should add another 10 minute interval between steps 3 and 4.
I plan to do the 90˚ turns as indicated in the manual on my 1985 wagon head.

According to the Technical Data for Passenger Cars FSM (Edition January 1983) which I have in front of me, the correct adjustment goes as follows:
Per Engine 617 Stage 1: 40 Stage 2: 70 Setting time 10 Min. Stage 3: 90 Deg. Stage 4: 90 Deg. To clarify, there are no torque values stated for final torques. IMO there is probably some good reason for that.

They're torque to yield, as in the bolts stretch during the final two 90* turns, putting constant pressure on the head.
