W126 dome light Gen I, Gen II swap?
Can you put a Gen II visor, dome light & headliner board into
a Gen I W126? Wondering about the dome light plugs. Thanks, Jeff

It will fit physically, might have to modify the wiring slightly. I took a different approach, I got a front dome lamp from a late 80's 190 that has the map light added but is the same size, and then I got the visors from a 1991 350sdl. All the upgrades with no removal of the actual headliner board or wiring modifications.

Gen I and Gen II dome lights are different sizes and have
different mount holes in the headliner board. Also, what is the little grill with the hole in it used for? Gen II has a control switch with it. Thanks, Jeff

On the W124 that grill is connected to a hose and small fan behind the right dash vent. It's part of how the climate control systems monitors the interior temperature.
