Getting a key made from MB.
Ive done this before with no problem ,my trouble this time is the title isnt in my name ,is this an issue?

My feeling would be NO, as:
1. As you're asking on this list, I assume it's an older car 2. You have a title in hand

Got the call ,the title has to be in your name ,got this day to see if any locksmiths will do this job .

If the title is signed over in the proper places by the previous owner and you have a bill of sale to back that up...I don't really see the problem?

Local locksmith wanted ~ $100 because he needs to make money to pay for his expensive machine.
He took a takeitleaveit position then got pissed when I asked whether the blanks are expensive (they aren't) followed by "how much will you make if I buy from the dealer?"

85SD 240K & stopped counting painted, putting bac together. 84SD 180,000. sold to a neighbor and member here but I forget his handle. The 84 is much improved from when I had it. 85TD beginning to repair to DD status. Lots of stuff to do.

The dealer will make you the key if you have the original title in your hand
but what's the problem with getting the title put in your name so registering the car

DMV requires a statement form with a title thats been transferred over and over ,seems the used car salesmen were the car resided was not so good with paper work.I will need a secured title which requires a background of the car ,special time at a downtown dmv is required ,2 hrs sitting with an hr drive makes for a half day spent .It was a simple loss of my car keys that set this in motion ,now that Ive found them its a bit of relief but will be a sooner trip than later .
