Vacuum nightmare!

greetings,
I was rechecking all my vacuum lines because of that transmission problem that I reported in my last post and guess what happened? One of the plastic nipples on the main vacuum line coming from the vacuum pump broke! The one that broke was the one closer to he front of the car. I rigged it so that the line that went into the broken nipple now goes into the other nipple along with what was there via a three way connector. Is this going to be a problem? I'll order a new vacuum line ASAP from fastlane but it probably won't get here until tuesday. Ack!

Alex

Oh, I forgot to mention that I plugged the small hole with some silicone to seal it off. I hope the vacuum isn't going to be so strong that it sucks the little silicone into the vacuum pump.

Alex-
That's odd- I did broke exactly the same front nipple on my 83 300D last week trying to fix my transmission. I just drilled the hole out and plugged in the vacuume line directly. I'll have to buy another one. I read somewhere here that the front tap is a restricted line that meters the proper amount of vacuum to that circuit, which includes the transmission.
