Cheap Sunroof Deflector Spring Repair
This was done on my 87 190DT, I am not sure how it will apply to other series. For the cost af less than $3 and about 5 mins worth of work I got my sunroof deflector working. I used the springs that hold the screen in place on your house. I pulled the arm off that connects the track to the deflector. It unclips at the track and slides rearward about 1/4 inch. There is a small screw on the end where the plastic end slides into the metal arm.that adjusts the angle. I loosened the screw and slid the flat part under the plastic part and gently tightened the screw. Before I inserted the spring I slightly bent it and put more arch into it. I snapped the arm back into place (spring faces down) and did the other side. Works great. Much less wind buffeting.
