cruise control amp connector "colors"

does the color of the connector on a gen1 w126 cruise amp mean anything? I am searching the wreckers for compatible amps. Mine is orange, others in the yard are not. They are however gen1 w126's with om617.

I pulled one and it intermittently works but want to know if it is the right one before I try to repair it. Why not repair mine? does not even try to function. Rather start with one that has at some point worked.

Obviously checking the PN would be the answer but I don't remove the housing, just the board.
