Definitely give Pierre Hedary a call. He's located in Titusville. Met him recently while he overhauled a friend's car here in Tucson, AZ. He's a great help.

I second the recommendation for Pierre, although you are pretty far from him. Also your 93 is at the upper limit of "new" car for what Pierre likes to work on.

What kind of shifting problems do you have? There is a lot of knowledge on this board that may be able to help you. These transmissions seem to have governor problems more than others but they are fixable without removal of the trans.
Let us know.

93 300 D shifting problems ,

well , where do i start , the engine seems to rev up going in to 1 st ,2 nd and 3 rd, I am not sure by the sound if the clutch is actually slipping of there is a delay on the change , I have tried to adjust the throttle linkage and the Bowden cable, with no results , my next plan was getting a psi gauge , putting it on the tranny and setting the vac modulator, at least that will eliminate the modulator , my blower motor also **** the bed, i found some good diagnostic material regarding this on line and since i dont have power at the x64 connector I ordered a replacment climate control . $100.
otherwise I love the car,Martin

BMW Service Gainesville, Florida | Continental Imports

A bit closer than AZ.........about four hours.........but nobody is going to give you better advice and/or corrective action than these fellows.

The owner is a member on here and you can absolutely trust anything that this shop does.

Well.....Pierre is in Titusville, Florida; about 2 1/2 hrs north of you on 95. He is the best mechanic that I know personally with older than 93 MB cars. He is very forthcoming with information and would be happy to speak with you on the phone and give you ideas about your trans. Pierre is one of the technical writers for MB of America. If you read Star magazine...then you have read Pierre's articles.
Also Brians recommendation of the shop in Gainesville is also excellent...The Brothertons are top notch!
John
