Odd Front Left (Suspension?) Noise

Here's the deal on my 1980 W123 Wagon;

When I go over medium to large size bumps when making a right hand turn, I get this croaking sound coming from the left front wheel well. I thought once I replaced the LCA bushings, UCA, Ball Joint, shock, and tie rod - all in need of replacement anyway - the noise would go away. But it hasn't. Something is happening when it gets compressed on the front driver side that causes this croaking sound. My springs seem in good shape, no sag.

Additionally, on a cold start there seems to be a similar vibration/croak right near my foot when sitting in the driver seat. Doesn't sound like the engine, but pressure building the power steering???? Could the two be related?

Thanks for the input.

Did you replace the front sway bar bushings? The can make creeking noises over bumps or turns. You can loosen them up and spray they with lube and tighten them again. This will diagnose the bushings. If they squeak still then it's something else. If the squeak changes or goes away you've found the problem.

No I did not, when replacing the UCA they seemed to be in decent shape, no cracks/decay - maybe that's something that cannot be detected visually though? I actually did try hitting them with some WD40, no avail.

The noise seems to be less of a squeak/creak and more croaking - deeper tone to it.

Could be your Guide Rod Mount. You did say you felt a creak by your foot.

You didn`t mention the lower BJ being replaced, don`t know if it would make any moaning etc. If the boot is torn, then it could be chewed up from dirt and water. just replace my LF lower BJ and it should have been complaining but wasn`t by the loosness and rust.

I think he is spaking of the 2 Bushings where the Sway Bar Pivots on the bottom of the Fire Wall.

When My Car Groned when I was backing out of the Drive way it turned out to be a Rear Crossmember rusted through and cracked.
The Firewall under the Battery Try is right next to one of the Sway bar Bushings on the Fire wall and it is a common place for rust.

Thanks all for the great suggestions, I'm heading out to poke around at some of them now.

Charmalu - the lower BJ was replaced so I know that can be eliminated, I thought for sure it would be that though...

I sprayed some lithium grease down on the sway bar bushings, same sound still when making turning to the right. Also, I am not so sure it is the bushings considering that the noise seems to be from a bit lower. They likely could be replaced anyways.

I noticed something else though which could be related (?). I had the wheel cranked all the way to the right when I parked to get a good look in the wheel well. When cranked all the way it made a horrible screeching sound, which is likely the PS belt or pump. Could a PS problem cause be related to this? BTW the power steering fluid is at the full mark.

Any advice or ideas???
