anyone use the rotella fuel additive?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has used the shell rotella DFA fuel additive. After reading the other thread about new diesel, I am more convinced to add a little but every tank, rather then the specicfied dose every once in a while, to ensure lubrication and good burning in an older diesel.
Since shell seems to have pretty good products, Im just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the rotella DFA
Thanks

JMH

I bought a 96 ounce container of the stuff at Wal Mart for 12 dollars. Seemed like a good deal to me. I haven't run it yet, but hopefully it works as claimed. It's a lot cheaper than Redline.

I have just started using it. Not sure about it yet, but have good feelings. The price is good at Wally World, so I hope to use it insteadof Lubro Moly Hi-Test.

Also check rotella.com, there is a 2 to 8 bucks rebate on it.

I use Power Service additives from Wal Mart. Very good, quiets things down.

I have been using it since it came out and compared to the Napa Fuel Conditioner that I was using, it is superior. I think it is best to us it every tank for the water dispersion, cetane boost, and lower gelling point, but I buy my diesel 500 gallons at a time so it is easy to add. Have a tank at the shop.

I buy the quart bottle that treats 100 gallons, then put 1/5th of the bottle in every few tanks. I have tracked a consistent improvement in fuel economy with that tank every time. Probably not enough to cover the cost fully, but I have to assume it does good things for the engine then. I intend to follow the instructions and add to every tank in winter.

I became a big believer in fuel additives for engine cleaning with my older jag. Fuel injector cleaner seems to stave off a sporadic problem with one injector sticking in that car. So I now use fuel addiditives that clean engines in all my cars on occasion.

I just started using this also. I can't really tell if it has made much of a difference yet since I have only owned the car for right at a month now. I have faith in the Rotella name though and will probably continue to use it unless someone can REALLY sway me.
