1983 300TD Complete Exhaust System - Where to buy?

Hi guys,

Well I think it's finally time to replace my exhaust system, it's original nearly 30 years old and I finally can't take the leaks anymore.

A few years ago when I looked online I could get all the parts, downpipe, resonator, and rear muffler. Can you see these for sale here? Or anywhere else..? I'm finding it hard to find on other sites too

Any help is appreciated!

Have you looked at Time valve? www.timevalve.com they have stain less steel exhaust system.

Looking in the parts catalog tab above, they only show the Down Pipe.

Timevalve stuff is pretty awesome, wow. For all sections it's $829 from Time Valve...$40 shipping.

Yeah it's weird, there is no center or rear muffler in the parts tab. If buying a whole system I'd prefer to keep same maker front to back. I'm not finding that on the web now...

I want to compare standard exhaust with the stainless, the systems in these diesels last so long (30yrs!) that I want to make the $ jump to stainless but not sure if it makes sense.

Well I decided to go with Eberspaecher. ********* had everything, I ordered:
downpipe
center muffler
rear muffler
4 heavy duty hangers
seal ring
exhaust clamp
muffler rubber bumper
down pipe mounting kit
Total including shipping was $404. Not too bad, the stainless was tempting...if it were a gasser I would have gone with Time Valve

By 300TD do you mean a wagon or a sedan? I have the entire rear section of the exhaust in almost new condition for a W123 diesel sedan in my storage building.....

T means “station wagon” so..I guess I’m out of luck. Too bad..I’ve been scouring the web and it looks like *nobody* had anything but the front pipe (coming down from the engine) which is the one I DONT need..

that factory in Germany (Eberspacher) that was mentioned in this thread years ago is apparently shut down due to a cyberattack; who knows if they even still make exhaust parts for a 40-year-old car.

Does anyone have any idea how much a shop would typically charge to fabricate a custom pipe? I’d even consider going with a straight (no mufflers) exhaust..it seems the noise isn’t bad with a turbo (?)

Where are you? I have a parts wagon with a relatively new exhaust on it.

I need everything except the front pipe coming down from the engine. That one is in acceptable shape, but the rest is toast. My mechanic patched it up so it’ll stay together for a short while (?).

Literally seems impossible to find new exhaust anywhere. I’m considering having a muffler shop fabricate a system for me; I need to find out what that would cost..hope to make it over there in a couple of days.

It seems odd that there are none around, but the car is nearly 40 years old..

looking on ebay Europe was a great suggestion, a bunch of stuff in the US turned up on that search (that wasn't there on a normal US search)

as far as that link goes, my car (300TD) isn't listed, but no matter..I'm pretty sure I'll be able to find it now so..thanks!
