Found a 5 speed w/617 na but info needed

Hello, I found a 617.913 with a 711.110 Gi/18 5/6.15 5 speed trans. Its installed in a non Mercedes car.

These items came out of a Benz van/transporter/460 300GD. Here is a link with some good info about what this box is( about 9 post down by Mgrays)
PointedThree - T1 Transporter gearbox to W460 300GD 617A

My questions are,

1. can I have the gears changed in this box to be more useful for street car and appox what would this cost?

2. Does anyone know the value of this set-up as is?

The car that these items are installed in can be driven. I think the current owner cant get it to pass because the car was not originally a diesel. He didn't do the swap, he bought it from someone else. The swap is done very well, I just don't need another 4x4.

Any wisdom from the collective?

I wouldn't use that transmission in a car. 1st an extremely low granny gear unusable in a car.

aand the flywheel is too large to fit in a standard manual box...

the granny gear might be good with 2.27 rear diff gears... that'd give an awesome 5th gear top end... it'd still only be 1:1, but behind the 2.27 it'd likely have an amazing top speed, and very low 70MPH RPM... no?

Thanks for the replys.

I was not thinking about putting it in a car, I have some other projects that this might work in. Neither of which would be a rock-crawler.
