First valve adjustment in a long, long time. WOW

I just finished my first valve adjustment on a 84sd, and all I can say is that it feels like a whole new beast. Every valve was way out of spec, and one that need just a little bit more of an adjustment....Bye bye first start of the day problems, and a bunch less smoke, too.... Made my own wrenches, it was fun

I would recommend rechecking in 500 miles or so, if it hasn't been done in a long time.

The adjustment can change as the engine gets back into where it should be and you can end up being out of spec again.

At that altitude you want your valves spot on, especially when only the tops of those white poles are visible.

It's mt. ashland on the oregon/cali border. Fun place to do some real back country driving on national forest roads.... I'm at about 7500 ft in these pics. They are from the summer, and those aren't clouds, it's smoke...ewww
