1985 300D slow to warm up
As the weather has gotten colder in the northeast my 300d has been taking forever to warm up and almost never hits the 80 degree mark on the temp gauge. I have a greasecar kit in it and the coolant temp gauge on the co-pilot confirms coolant temps around 160 after 20-25 minutes of driving.
I have replaced the thermostat with a genuine MB and swapped the expansion tank cap with my 1985 300TD. Is there anything else to check out or is it time to put a winter front on this one? My wagon has always run hotter and never had trouble warming up in the winter. Thanks!

The wire connector could have corosion where it plugs onto the temp sender on the side of the block.
The temp gauge could be faulty or there is a ground problem where the Tach/clock, spedo and tri cluster overlap on the rear of the inst cluster. Did this problem just start, or come on suddenly? Are you getting full heat from the heater? or the gauge not reading hot? Charlie

In extreme cold temps, if you have the heater blasting on full all the time, that will slow warmup and make the car run a bit cooler overall. However, you should still see 80 after driving a while.
With the WVO setup I would assume you are diverting some coolant heat into warming the supplemental WVO filter, and the fuel lines. That won't be helping matters. Questions: How far do you typically drive the car, on your trips? What mix of antifreeze to water are you running?
