Who does that!?

I always take the parking spot waay away from everyone else to avoid dents and damage. My local Lowes is no different, in fact it's on a slope, so all of the carts end up hitting the next car down the grade. I come out and this animal is snug against me! There were about 15 spots open down to the concrete island and about another 5 open down from that before the lot was filling. A younger me would've grabbed my valve stem tool...

Looks to me as if the FedEx driver is sending you a message of some sort. As for it being too close to your car ("snug")? It isn't. I would strongly advise anyone NOT to straddle parking lot lineage - IMO, you're kind of asking for it.

All that said, if you want to pull an end run, get the specifics off the FedEx truck, and mail the pic to FedEx in Memphis, TN. - if you want to make some sort of trouble or enquiry for the driver to answer for. Even if hdqrs. blows-off your concerns - it WILL put the driver of that FedEx truck under the ongoing scrutiny/radar screen of his supervisors.

Outside all this......why not wait and ask the driver for an explanation? You would then have the driver's name to affix to the report sent to FedEx in Memphis.

The FedEx driver IMO did a foolish thing putting his job/behavior on the line for this line-straddling stunt.

Unless you are as wide as the van--you had plenty of room to open your door to get in. If someone are as wide as the van--they shouldnt get ps'ed off like this over nothing--it can be disasterous- they shall be looking for things to get ps'ed off at the paramedics who come to save their corpulant azz from le cardiac arrest!

x 2.

I hate people straddle parking space. It is un-courteous and self-centered. There is no need to do it as there was NO car around when the car was parked. The OP also un-ashamedly post here.

It's more about you taking up two spots. It just screams " park close to me, I'm a ( fill in the blank ) " Park away from others? OK, Pick a end curb spot OK too.

This falls in the same realm as those that drive across empty parking lines on a diagonal rather than following the lanes, stopping over the white stop line / cross walk at an intersection.

Don't take a run at the Fed ex guy with a false claim, that screams no ethics and expect someone to do something similar to you. Karma has a way of hammering those who try to screw others for no good reason.

Besides, the Fex ex guy is farther away from you that if both of you were parking in your respective " spots " . If you were using one spot and someone parked in their spot, your response would be? . . . .

Another thought, how about putting car show pylons and velvet rope around the car when parked?

If I were the OP, I would delete this post as if it never happened.

Snug meaning I couldn't open the driver's rear passenger door all the way. I need full door extension to get my 3 year old in his car seat. I just don't get why he had to pick my old Merc out when 3/4 of the lot was empty. I wouldn't report the driver unless there was damage to my car, and even then I would try to track the individual down before considering a complaint. If I could have captured a panoramic view of the nearly empty lot you guys would see the humor. This is why I can't own nice things!

There is always a satellite view or a MS Paint diagram. On some forums, if a paint diagram isn't made the incident didn't occur.

The passenger side rear door is NO-OP?

How about this work around, park with the left side of the car towards the curb. Or have kid enter car from non car seat side, with you following. While you are in the car, load kid into seat.

What would you do if there were cars on both side of you?

At least FedEx doors don't open out. I would (and do) park next to the curb. I also try to be on the passenger's side of the other car. I usually park dead center & don't hog 2 spaces. I would crowd you if I were in a bad mood.

The one year old sits in the passenger rear.

Am I really out of check with my reaction? I laughed all the way, because what else can you do? How come the old guys parking their C5 Corvettes in motorcycle slots at the local bar don't get grilled? Don't tell me you guys haven't seen that move before..

Because the old guys go to the local _bar_ and not a _bar and grille_? ..
