1978 300SD: broken wire help please.

Katz - found a broken wire. What is it?

Temp sensor I think. Could be the temp sensor for the glow plugs. How long does the glow plug light stay lit? Longer when cold or not?

on my 80sd that is the glow plug temp sensor,closest to radiator,there is another sensor closer to firewall that is the water temp sensor.should be same on your 78
