Thanks for the cold starting tips
Okay, I read the owners manual a long time ago and never drove the 85 300SD in real cold weather. I remember my Dad always complaining how bad it was in snow ( we lived at the top of a long very steep hill ) and so would drive my Mom's front wheel drive vehicle or whatever she had just not his Benz in the snow. well last week I posted about starting and plugging it in when it gets well below freezing etc. One of our members posted the factory recommendations for cold starting etc. Well I followed it to a "T". As soon as I did the glow plug count down ( come on you all know you do it , if it gets cold where you live ) and put my foot to pedal all the way before cranking and slowly the beast came to life. Now I know I need new glow plugs but I was honestly impressed with the way she started. Thanks to all here and I hope you never loose interest in these wonderful automobiles.
Alan
